As the principal of Thorrington Dance Academy, I am always looking for ways to encourage children to stay healthy and active. With the arrival of summer, it's the perfect time to get outside and explore the great outdoors. Thorrington, Essex is a wonderful place to do just that, with plenty of natural beauty and fun activities to enjoy. In this blog post, I'll share my top 5 nature activities for children in Thorrington, Essex.

1. Thorrington Windmill
The Thorrington Windmill is a stunning piece of history that makes for a great family day out. The mill is over 200 years old and is open on certain days for visitors to explore. Take a tour of the inside of the mill, learn about its history and how it works. The Windmill is also surrounded by beautiful fields that are perfect for picnics and kite flying.

2. Thorrington Country Park
Thorrington Country Park is a picturesque location to explore with the whole family. This park is perfect for nature walks, picnics and bird watching. It's a great spot for children to learn about different types of trees, flowers and birds. The park also has a children’s play area that is sure to keep little ones entertained.

3. St. Mary's Church
