Our Dance Teachers

All of our teachers are hugely passionate about sharing their love of dance.

Our teachers are friendly, enthusiastic and have a positive and encouraging approach to teaching.

All teachers have DBS checks, first aid training and are appropriately qualified to teach dance.

Sam

Sam began her training at 3 years old and knew from a young age that she wanted to become a dance teacher. After gaining her GCSE & A Level in dance, Sam went on to further her training in Dance and Musical Theatre studying full time at The Margaret Howard Theatre College, obtaining ISTD teaching qualifications in Imperial Classical Ballet, Tap Dance and Modern Theatre Dance.

Sam has extensive teaching experience, teaching at various dance schools in Essex for over 12 years. Sam has also taught dance in several Primary schools in Essex as part of their PE lessons. Sam is a member of the ISTD and is able to enter candidates for ISTD examinations.

Sam never stops learning and is continually developing her own skills and knowledge as a teacher. In 2017 Sam completed her Acrobatic dance training and became a certified teacher with Acrobatic Arts.

Lissy

Lissy began her dance training at a young age and progressed to advanced level. Lissy had a particular passion for Musical Theatre and successfully gained a degree in Musical Theatre.

Lissy then went on to become a certified Acrobatic Arts teacher and began her ISTD teacher training in Modern Theatre Dance and Tap Dance. As well as qualifications, Lissy has extensive experience performing around the world in productions as well as local pantomimes.

Lissy now teaches for a variety of dance schools in the Essex & Suffolk area. 

With a wealth of knowledge and years of teaching experience, Lissy is a much loved and highly valued member of the TDA teaching team.

Shannon

Shannon started dancing at the age of 5, she is trained in Classical Ballet, Modern Theatre Dance & Tap Dance. Shannon’s love for dance grew and after progressing through the ISTD grades decided that she would train to become a teacher.

Shannon has successfully completed her ISTD teacher qualification in both Classical Ballet & Modern Theatre dance. Shannon’s particular passion is Classical Ballet. Shannon takes regular classes and is training at Advanced 2, professional level. Shannon has always loved to help children discover the joy of dancing. Before becoming a lead teacher, Shannon spent many years as an assistant teacher gaining a wealth of knowledge and teaching strategies from experienced teachers.

Shannon also has another artistic passion, photography.In 2018 Shannon gained a BA(Hons) degree in Photography. We are very excited to have Shannon join the TDA teaching team.

Zoe

Zoe grew up dancing from a young age, training in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Modern as well as Commercial and Ballroom/Latin. Her love of dance inspired her further her knowledge and study at university. Zoe successfully gained her first class degree in Musical Theatre at UCC.

Zoe has a passion for Musical Theatre and has performed in multiple productions gaining multiple roles including Sandy in Grease and Sleeping Beauty in the pantomime production.

Zoe continues to perform alongside teaching and sharing her passion for dance.
